Synopsis

Dashing lawyer Bruce Lane (George O'Brien) is forced by his boss to serve Commodore Russell Selby a subpoena to testify before the U.S. Senate Committee. Dodging the summons, the wealthy Commodore enters the Honolulu Yacht Race. Bruce poses as a drowning man to steal aboard Selby's luxurious vessel. Heavy fog shipwrecks "The Lady Betty" when a gun-running windjammer commanded by the villainous Captain Morgan (William Hall) crashes into its side. The Captain takes the stranded crew on board, including the Commodore's glamorous daughter, Betty Selby (Constance Worth).

Discovering just how valuable his accidentally acquired "cargo" is, the plotting sea captain devises a cunning plan to cash in. Bruce suspects that their lives are in danger and plans a daring escape.

Windjammer is the last of the George Hirliman-produced films starring rugged man's man George O'Brien. RKO produced 18 westerns starring O'Brien, including Gun Law, Border G-Man, Painted Desert and The Renegade Ranger - all made in 1938! The series ended when O'Brien joined the Navy during WWII.
