Maximo Toro is a bull-headed revolutionary general hell bent on taking over the Republic of Hondo Rico, a small Caribbean island low on wealth and weaponry. Taking full advantage of the fact that his gorgeous lover, Francoise, is Prime Minister Henri Degiere's daughter, Toro pretends he's holding her hostage in his undisclosed location and threatens Degiere with her death unless he sends an arsenal of rifles. Degiere agrees to accommodate Toro in order to rescue Francoise. When Degiere's scheme is foiled, he turns to Texan millionaire Axel "Longhorn" Gates, who comes up with a more enchanting plan to bring Toro down - an "invasion" of beautiful women in army jeeps.
