Synopsis
Prohibition's over and bombastic bootlegger Remy Marko is heading for the straight-and-narrow, the up-and-up, the strictly legit. But in the new booze-friendly legit world, the beer baron's brew is a big bust -- and all his troubles with creditors, coppers, a fugitive mobster carrying stolen loot, a marriage-minded daughter, a rascally orphan and four unwanted corpses are coming to a frantic, foaming head during a wild-and-woolly weekend at his Saratoga Springs mansion. Join the party for this legitimately laugh-filled remake of A Slight Case of Murder filmed in Warnercolor and with songs added for effervescence. Academy Award winners* Broderick Crawford and Claire Trevor bring killer comedy chops to the roles of raucous Remy and his long-suffering ex-showgirl wife Nora. The guest list for Remy's swank soiree also includes Sheldon Leonard, Harry Morgan, Margaret Dumont, Ned Glass, Virginia Gibson and Bill Hayes. You'll be ever-loving Stop, You're Killing Me, so drop by. Just skip the beer and look out for the occasional dead body.
