Gina Rodriguez stars as Jane, a young hard-working religious Latina, committed to saving her virginity until marriage. However, her life is changed forever after being accidentally artificially inseminated, with the donor being her former teen crush and current boss. As her meticulously planned life starts resembling the telenovelas she loves, she faces a lot of complicated decisions about what's next. Created by Jennie Snyder Urman ("Gilmore Girls," "Lipstick Jungle") and based on the Venezuelan soap opera "Juana La Virgen," the series has received numerous accolades for both its writing and performance by lead actress Rodriguez, who earned a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a comedy for her role as "Jane." In addition to the Globe nod for Best Comedy, the series earned an AFI Award for TV Program of the Year, a Peabody Award and People's Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy.
