With his sight restored, the man not only sees his healer, but also his divinity, while others, despite their perfectly good eyesight, cannot see Jesus for who He really is. The Touch: A touch becomes an act of faith in this story from Luke 8. As Jesus moves through a crowd of people, a woman is miraculously healed when she reaches out and touches Christ's garment. Jesus says, "Somebody hath touched me for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me." The Good Samaritan: In this parable shared by Jesus in Luke 10, a traveler falls among thieves and is left half dead. While others pass him by, a Samaritan and known Jewish enemy saves the man from certain death by caring for him. "Go and do thou likewise," Christ urges. Akedah (The Binding): After giving Abraham a promise of endless blessings, God gives the prophet a great test to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. This even from Genesis is know by many throughout the world as the "Akedah", the Hebrew word for binding. The Sisters of Bethany: The Bible only mentions Mary and Martha three times, including the raising of their brother Lazarus (John 11), Mary anointing the feet of Jesus (John 12:1-8), and "Choosing the good part" (Luke 10:38-42), but each incident is fundamental in Christ's ministry and teaching.
