Synopsis
In The Big Trees (1952), Jim Fallon (Kirk Douglas) is an unscrupulous businessman hoping to make big profits by staking claims to California land rich in timber under a new law passed in 1900. It looks a though his plans may be thwarted by a resident Quaker colony and his own devious business partners. In My Dear Secretary (1949) successful novelist and playboy Owen Waterbury (Kirk Douglas) needs a new secretary; he frequently needs a new secretary. When giving a lecture at a writers class he meets Stephanie Gaylord (Laraine Day) and persuades her to take on the job. Although she admires his work, she is not so impressed by his advances. A riotous comedy with scene stealing performances from Keenan Wynn and Florence Bates.
