Postal investigator Tom Whitlock (Tom Tyler) arrives in Deadwood County posing as "The Hawk," an escaped convict who is trying to retrieve a fortune in stolen government bonds he buried years before. Deadwood is the hideout for a ruthless gang of outlaws led by the notorious Butch Cassidy (Slim Whittaker), who is also determined to get his hands on the hidden loot.
