Synopsis
Cowboy Jim Kane's bank loan is due. So is his next alimony payment. And the Appaloosas he brought in from Mexico have been slapped into quarantine. What Jim needs is some Pocket Money. Academy Award winners* Paul Newman and Lee Marvin star in this sunny comedy also featuring two veterans of Newman's Cool Hand Luke: director Stuart Rosenberg and costar Strother Martin (the infamous "Captain"). Newman plays rascally Jim and Marvin is his pal Leonard, a big talker full of ideas that never pan out. As laid down in the deft screenplay by Terrence Malick (Badlands, The New World), they're as likable a duo of drifters as ever rolled down the pike.
