Synopsis
In this quintessential boxing tale, up-and-coming fighter Joe Palooka (Stuart Ervin) takes up with a salty but colorful old manager.(Jimmy Durante), who delivers an endless stream of hilarious one-liners on the way to making the kid a champ. But along the way, a bawdy vixen (Lupe Velez) threatens to derail their progress. Based on the hugely-popular and long-running Joe Palooka comic strip. Also keep an eye out for James Cagney's lookalike brother, WiIliam, who co-stars!
