Synopsis
Texas Ranger Captain Roy Colt must enforce the illegal orders of power-hungry General Augustus LaRue. He commands Colt to collect heavy tariffs on all trade in the territory. Reluctantly, Roy must arrest pretty June Tabor, a merchant who, like all loyal Texans, refuses to pay the tax. Instead of imprisoning her, the General grants her a monopoly on the trade route in return for kickbacks. Disappointed that June turned out as crooked as LaRue, Colt feigns loyalty to the General. He plans to sabotage the would-be dictator's plans, before Sam Houston returns from Washington with statehood for his beloved Texas.
