Synopsis
D.W. Griffith directed this dramatic tale of a man who escapes to the South Pacific with his daughter after murdering his wife's lover. The film stars Carol Dempster, Richard Barthelmess, and George MacQuarrie, and was made at great peril: Griffith and his crew experienced a hazardous voyage from Miami to the Bahamas during the film's production, with two men going overboard and no food for three days. The Love Flowerremains one of his lesser known films, but still boasts Griffith's vaunted dramatic sense, as well as the fine camera work of Griffith's long-time collaborator, Billy Bitzer.
