Synopsis
Legendary multi-talent Ida Lupino serves as both director and star of this 1953 film noir about a man with two families - one in San Francisco, the other in Los Angeles - which only becomes known after he and one of his wives attempt to adopt a child. Cited as the very first film in which a female star directed herself, The Bigamist is a compelling drama featuring a first-rate cast helmed by heavyweights Joan Fontaine, Edmond O'Brien, Edmund Gwenn, and, of course, Lupino herself as the man's second wife down south.
