Synopsis
While Bernie Madoff serves time in jail for his massive Ponzi scheme, the U.S. Marshals Service auctions off the contents of his New York homes. Up on the auction block: a $500,000 diamond ring, rare Persian rugs, a 1917 Steinway piano, and thousands of other items seized by the U.S. government. The Marshals also auction off the beach house and cars of drug dealers and the fine art of a white-collar criminal. National Geographic's The Madoff Auction is a behind-the-scenes look as the possessions of Bernie Madoff are auctioned off to the highest bidders.
