Synopsis
Cary Grant and Irene Dunne are remarkable as a married couple facing the unexpected tragedy of their adopted child's death in Penny Serenade. The 1941 film was ahead of its time in the way it weaved elements of romantic comedy with tragedy, and also for director George Stevens' method of moving the story forward by using popular songs of the day.
