Synopsis
Lillian and Dorothy Gish star in D.W. Griffith's stirring love story set during the first World War. Though this film has come under fire for its brutal depiction of German soldiers, it's still remarkable for its scale and scope, and its no-holds-barred look at war. Griffith shot most of the movie in Southern California, but also gained permission from the British government to film in highly restricted areas of England. Also, look for uncredited appearances by Noel Coward and Erich von Stroheim!
