Solid Pre-Code
Early pre-code starring Joan Crawford as a rich girl whose fortune squanders after her father's death. After losing everything, Joan takes a job as a reporter while her brother becomes involved with bootlegging. Never seen this movie before and it was fun seeing Crawford in one of her early roles. It was even more interesting seeing Clark Gable (without his trademark mustache) in one of his earlier MGM roles who has a supporting role as the bootlegger Crawford's brother works for. The plot is on the simple side, but this pre-code is definitely worth checking out.
Warner Archive did a great job on this release, also enjoyed the extras including the 1970s documentary Hollywood: The Dream Factory narrated by Dick Cavett about MGM.

Pre-Code Crawford
It's not the best pre-Code Joan Crawford movie, but any pre-Code Crawford movie is worthy of a release like this.
